Thursday Thought..

I have always know but today for some reason I have been thinking about how the world is a really really small place and that if you squint really hard you can see all the dots that connect us together.

30 Days of Creativity..Day 1, 2 & 3

Finally I get to start working on my 30 Day of Creativity from this post.  I planned to get started on May 1st and blog it all for the whole month but looks like I will have to play catch up a bit on this post.

Day 1: When you were a child, how did you express your creativity?

When I was a wee little one I love all things creative. My art teacher was a really funky, laid back and patient lady. I wish I remembered her name. She kept us busy with Tye-dye, string art, painting, drawing, paper mache..I was in pure heaven in her class. I'm sure it drove my family nutty to have to find places to display my masterpieces. Most of my pieces were marker drawn.  Which inspired my ATC above. I created this for a monthly swap on the AC Moore forum. The theme was Spring and the challenge was to include markers.

 Day 2: What colors are meaningful to you and why?

I love earthtones..This picture from photobucket really shows off the color pallette. Something about these colors really says "home" to me. They are comforting and energetic all at the same time. My fave is the red but currently I'm obsessed with avacado green. Growing up I loved all things blue, it felt rebellious to me. I was a girl and only wanted to wear blue.

Day3: What words or phrases do you find inspiring and why?

  How can this not ring true..Always have to remind myself to be patient I'm still learning. Baby Steps.

Now that I am all caught up with the first few days. I can't wait to get some projects started for the next 27 days.

April was the month of the Cave Dweller.

I must have been insane at some point in March or infected with the "Swap Bug".  If you haven't taken part in a swap before than you really won't understand the incredible pressure-contentment-excitement-satisfaction cycle that ensues. It's highly addictive!

I frequent a few talented and friendly sites. And, On occasion I will sign up for creatively challenging swaps. Swaps ranging from make 1 item and recieve 1 in return to swaps of mass production up to 12 items. Projects ranging from paper crafts to beading, inchies (1" works of art) to full 12x12 layouts.  Here are my most recent Cave Arts..

Wilton is at it again..Yearbook 2012

What an amazing cake to strike up the creative mojo..I can't wait to see what else is inside for 2012. It is set to roll in June, I can't wait to get my copy.

Mama's got a brand new bag..

Sprint HTC EVO Shift 4G

Thanks to 2 of my 4 wonderful men. Big surprise since my only instruction this year was to not get me any lotion, perfume, chocolates, or flowers. My lil men chose presents all by themselves. How excited they were for me to get them. I couldn't open them fast enough. Gotta thank the Hubby for taking them to the Dollar Tree and giving them free reign to choose the perfect presents for me.

 X, got me a mini blue locker caddy  ("it's a magnet", he told me with such pride) Hanging proudly on the front of my dryer next to my craft desk

C got me a 504 piece puzzle ("it's a horsey puzzle", beaming with glee) Oh how I love puzzles and doing puzzles with my kids can't wait to get this one finished and hung on the cave wall.

Just perfect. What more can a girl ask for than to know she's loved and remembered on her birthday. I wish I had pictures of the party they threw for me, We made paper hats, fully decked out in crayon and chalk. Then they instructed me to put up balloons, so we cut some from cardstock and then as any great party would suggest we colored them and added streamers and hung them from the ceiling beam. Of course you Gotta have party snacks too; so a bowl of dum-dums were in order.  I was treated like royalty. priceless!! I highly recommend them for your next event.

I'm tempted to attend this event the price is a bit steep for a virtual crop $97 for 3 days or the recorded version for $127.

If you go to the $97 dollar version you spend Friday from 5-9pm est, then Sat. 10-5, then Sun. something like 5 hours. Hmmm tempting. But if I did it I would opt for the more expensive version just so the classes are available after the event so I could work a little slower. I do think the cricut class with Erin Bassett will be fun, and I so love Jen McGuire's stamping and teaching style. Dig Shimelle Laine and her funky thrifty vibe, and How could you forget Kelli, Stephanie, and Nic. Wow Ali too, Noelle Hyman, come on. Crazy creative bunch of super talented professional scrappers.
